Khan Chowdhury to file defamation against WB minister

Press Trust of India Malda (WB)

"The notice will be sent to the West Bengal minister soon," Khan Chowdhury told newsmen here.

The press conference was called at the Congress office to protest against the provocative comments and alleged personal attacks made by Mullick against three Congress central ministers yesterday.

Mullick had dubbed the Congress a 'foolish party' and allegedly mounted a personal attack on Khan Chowdhury, Deepa Dasmunshi and Adhir Chowdhury at a TMC meeting in North 24 Parganas district.

The personal attacks on the three ministers and their families should be condemned, Khan Chowdhury said but did not say in which court he would file the case.

He said complaints would also be lodged with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee against the minister.

"The use of intemperate language by TMC leaders show that the end of that party's reign is drawing near ... The leaders of that party do not know what and how much should be said against whom and in what language ... They should be given a proper training" he added.

Mullick during his tirade had also compared the CPI-M to a cobra and asked Trinamool Congress activists to treat Left party's supporters like snakes sneaking into one's room.

He had also described the Left party as the worst political party, whose leaders have to be smeared with black paint as the people have rejected them.
