Mentally-unstable minor dies at women shelter home

The staff at the shelter home tried to wake the girl last night for dinner. When unable to do so, they rushed her to a hospital where she was declared dead, District Probation Officer Ashutosh Kumar Singh said.

The girl had been shifted to the shelter home from Saharanpur district in October last year and had been found healthy after a check up by doctors few days back, he added.

The reason behind her death is yet to be known, Singh said adding, the body has been sent for post mortem.

The case is under investigation.
