No provision for jobs on compassionate ground in municipal bodies: WB govt to HC

The government today told the that there is no provision for giving jobs on compassionate ground in municipal bodies of the state.

(nee Barui) and 13 others, whose father or mother died while working at in the state, moved the high court seeking direction to the to give jobs to them on compassionate ground.

Government pleader Joyotosh Majumdar submitted on behalf of the state before Justice that except in the Panchayat department, there is no scheme for appointment of dependents of staff who died in harness in any state undertaking or municipal body.
