Pujara, Shukla guide Indian Oil to easy win at T20 tourney

Cheteshwar Pujara and Ravikant Shukla guided Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) to a 10-wicket victory over Oil India Ltd (OIL) in the 35th Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) Inter-Unit T20 Cricket Tournament here today.

IOCL restricted their rivals to 97 for 3 and then hit the required runs in only 10 overs at Poona Club Ground.

Pujara scored 38 not out off 32 balls and Shukla blasted an unbeaten 55 in 28 balls in a team total of 99 for no loss.

In another game at the same venue, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, the tournament hosts, were beaten by five wickets by ONGC.
 

Eight teams from the national oil sector in India, divided in two groups, are taking part in the tournament.

Group A comprises IOCL, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL), OIL and Engineers India Ltd (EIL).

Group B includes Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), ONGC, Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (CPCL) and Mangalore Refineries and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL).

Matches are being conducted at Poona Club and PYC Gymkhana.

Scores: OIL 97 for 3 (Sunil Ranjan Gogoi 45) lost to IOCL 99 for no loss in 10 overs (Cheteshwar Pujara 38 not out, Ravikant Shukla 55 not out).

BPCL 187 for 6 (Suryakumar Yadav 44, Abhishek Nair 34, Vinit Indulkar 33; Suhail Sharma 2 for 23) lost to ONGC 188 for 5 in 19.2 overs (Nitesh Rana 52, Tanmay Srivastava 46, Taruwar Kohli 34 not out; Kiran Adhav 2 for 16).

CPCL 45 all out in 13.1 overs (Anil Kumar 4 for 12; A Nagesh 2 for 1) lost to MRPL 51 for 1 in 6.2 overs.

EIL 82 for 6 (Salman Khan 3 for 18, Shailesh Nage 2 for 4) lost to HPCL 87 for 1 in 5.1 ovrs (Hardik Tamore 54).
