Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur Thursday said people must remember great personalities such as Maharana Pratap for their contributions in society's upliftment.
He was speaking at a function organized by Rajput Kalyan Trust at Dharmagiri in Kangra district on the occasion of birth anniversary of Maharana Pratap.
The chief minister also stressed that the current and future generations must be told in detail about the struggles and contributions of Maharana Pratap so that they get inspired to work in the interest of society, state and the country.
Earlier, he laid the foundation of Maharana Pratap International School premises being constructed under the aegis of Rajput Kalyan Sabha Trust.
Recalling the sacrifice of Maharana Pratap and his services for the country, Thakur said he was a true patriot and warrior.
"He fought against the Mughal regime throughout his life and never surrendered before it," Thakur said.
On the BJP's massive victory in the recent Lok Sabha polls, the chief minister said it was because of the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the work done by the state government in the past 15 months.
The BJP won all four Lok Sabha seats in the state.
