A revenue official was arrested for allegedly taking Rs 8,000 as bribe to record revenue details of land belonging to a complainant's ancestors.
Sunil Soni was caught red-handed after a complaint by one Mohan Kanungo at Jhirinya area under Khargone district today, Lokayukta Superintendent of Police Arun Mishra said.
Soni had demanded a bribe for the division of 10 acres of Kanungo's ancestral land and recording it in revenue records, he said.

Acting on the complaint, a trap was laid and Soni was caught red handed while receiving Rs 8,000 as bribe.
A case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against him and probe is on.
