Sultry conditions prevailed in Punjab and Haryana today as no significant rainfall was recorded in the two states.
However, the MeT Department predicted the monsoon would revive in the net 2-3 days.
Chandigarh recorded a maximum temperature of 37 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal, the MeT Department said here.

In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a maximum temperature of 37 degrees Celsius, while mercury in Patiala and Ludhiana settled at 35.6 and 35.7 degrees Celsius respectively, it said.
In Ambala, the maximum temperature settled at 37.1 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal.
Hisar recorded a maximum temperature of 38.7 degrees Celsius, the weatherman said.
Asked why the monsoon had slowed down in Punjab and Haryana after its arrival, Director of the department Surinder Paul said "sometimes, it happens. But it will again revive in next 2-3 days..We are expecting some rains on July 9, 10 and 11".
