Tamil Nadu collected Rs 43,259 crore as commercial taxes till December 31 last year, according to a state government release.
Commercial Tax and Registration Minister M C Sampath announced the collections of commercial tax to the tune of Rs 43,259 crore till December 31 as against the target of Rs 68,724 crore for this fiscal, the release said.
Sampath also advised officials on methods of enforcement to curb irregularities by taxpayers and instructed them to fill up vacancies, it said.
