BJP leader Uma Bharti today lashed out at Uttar Pradesh government for its decision to appeal against Barabanki court's verdict, which rejected its plea to withdraw case against two alleged HuJI operatives.

The BJP leader claimed that it would "increase chances of more terror strikes."

"UP government has decided to challenge the lower court's order and this is not right.... It would only cause fear among the people and increase chances of more terror strikes," Bharti told newspersons here.

"Till now Pakistan was the only place in Asia which was regarded as safe for terrorists but now UP would also be a state for which terrorists would think as a safe place for themselves," Bharti said.

"The BJP will strongly object every such move of the state government", she said.

Yesterday, after the Barabanki court turned down the government application on withdrawing cases against Tariq Kasmi and Khalid Mujahid, accused in 2007 Gorakhpur serial blast case, senior minister Azam Khan said "this is not the last court. An appeal would be filed against the Barabanki court decision.
