Refined soya oil prices climbed by 0.95 per cent to Rs 623.40 per 10 kg in futures trade today as traders raised their bets, taking positive cues from the spot market on upsurge in demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in far-month April surged Rs 5.85, or 0.95 per cent to Rs 623.40 per 10 kg with an open interest of 80,930 lots.

On similar lines, the oil for delivery in March contracts traded higher by Rs 4.35, or 0.72 per cent to Rs 612.30 per 10 kg in 14,680 lots.

Traders attributed the rise in refined soya oil futures to uptick in demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing belts.
