12.14% Govt Loan Traded For Rs 65 Cr

The debt section at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) witnessed active trading for Rs 605.62 crore yesterday taking the

weekly turnover so far to Rs 2721.39 crore.

The government securities market saw interest in the loans having a short and medium period maturity.

The 12.14 per cent government loan maturing in 2000 was dealt for Rs 65 crore at 11.88 per cent yield and the 12 per cent one maturing in 2011 traded for Rs 30.27 crore at 12.91 per cent yield.

In the securities market there were only buyer quotes and the prices of securities appreciated a fair bit said a money market dealer.

 

The institutional bond of ICICI maturing in 1998 exchanged for Rs 20 crore at 11.99 per cent yield.

The treasury bill markets saw activity of Rs 72 crore with the April maturity bill yields witnessing a drop.

The 364-day treasury bills maturing in April 98 saw trades for Rs 52 crore at 8.95 per cent yield .

Corporate debentures saw deals worth Rs 49.1 lakh yesterday with activity seen in the Reliance Petro PPD issue for Rs 29.34 lakh at 17.46 per cent yield.

Call money ruled in the range of 0.1 per cent to 0.30 per cent for most of the day.
