Air Services Unaffected

BSCAL

Flight schedules at Chennai airport remained unaffected even as a section of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) officers continued their strike while another section called off their go-slow agitation.

International Airports Division Officers Association regional secretary S Ramagopal said following assurances by the management, the one-day mass casual leave agitation had been called off and all 110 officers, including airport managers, senior airport managers and deputy general managers reported for work.

However, members of the National Airports Division Officers Association continued their work-to-rule agitation in support of their demands relating to higher wage and better service conditions. The Indian Airlines engineering staff also continued with their go-slow agitation. But this did not affect flight operations in any way, IA sources said.

Meanwhile, the air traffic controllers guild sources said they had deferred their agitation as talks were being held with the AAI management in Delhi.
