Allahabad Bank H1 Non-Fund Income At Rs 42.23 Crore

Commission on letters of credit increased from Rs 4.91 crore to Rs 4.99 crore, while commission on bank guarantees dipped to Rs 8.35 crore from Rs 9.05 crore for the six months ended September, 1995.
Exchange on inland demand drafts and money transfers sold fetched the bank Rs 8.83 crore against Rs 8.13 crore in the earlier period last year.
Miscellaneous income contributed Rs 20.06 crore against Rs 20.02 crore in the six months ended September, 1995.
Allahabad Bank had recorded a non-fund non-interest based income of Rs 102.89 crore for the year ended March 1996, indicating a rise of nearly 50 per cent over the previous years figure which was at Rs 68.82 crore.
The bank, which recorded a net loss of Rs 76.36 crore in the period ended March 1995, turned the corner in 1995-96 by recording a net profit of Rs 5.62 crore.
Senior officials at the bank are confident of recording a higher net profit for the six months ended September 1996.
