Cbi Seals Satish Sharma House In Mussoorie

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has sealed the palatial house of former union minister Satish Sharma in Kaplani village, about 8 km from Mussoorie in Uttar Pradesh and is awaiting his return from abroad to interrogate him in connection with the Rs 3.3 crore JMM pay-offs case. Sources yesterday said that a CBI team had carried out raids at the palatial house, which is in the name of the former minister's wife, near Mussourie. The house, which has the facility of a helipad, and the farmhouse of Sharma are said to be valued at over Rs 30 crore. The Delhi residences and farmhouse of the former minister had been raided by the CBI last Saturday in connection with the ongoing probe in the JMM bribery case. Although the CBI sleuths could not find any documentary evidence of the alleged pay-offs to JMM MPs, they found documents relating to the award of oil-field contracts to some major industrial houses. Sources said Sharma is scheduled to return to the country by the weekend.
