Dot Kicks Off Procurement Process, Opens 2 Tenders

The department of telecommunications (DoT) has opened two tenders as part of this financial years procurement programme.
Scientific Instruments Ltd has emerged the lowest bidder for a tender for 100,000 six-GHz wave guides which opened on June 3. Eight vendors (manufacturers and suppliers of equipment) had submitted bids. Scientific Instruments quoted a price of Rs 12 crore. The highest quote of Rs 20 crore was by Delton Cables Ltd. The issue date of the tender was April 7. Wave guides are used to connect tower-mounted dishes to the subscribers instrument.
The other tender for procuring 77 digital MUX (34/140 Mb/9) opened on May 29. The lowest bidder in this case was National Telecom of India Ltd, which quoted a price of Rs 3 crore. The tender attracted bids from six vendors. The highest bidder was Indian Telephone Industries Ltd with a quote of Rs 5 crore. The issue date of this tender was also April 7. Digital MUX equipment is used to transfer voice and data.
