Green Ambition

Paroda has edited ten books and co-authored nearly 200 papers in various scientific journals. Seven Indian scientific societies have elected him for their presidencies. They are Genetics and Plant Breeding, Plant Genetic Resources, Oilseeds Research, Forage Research, Allelopathy, Desert Technology and Agricultural Statistics. The National Academy of Agricultural Sciences has recently elected him its vice-president and he is an elected fellow of the Indian National Science Academy, the Indian Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences. He is also acting as the Regional Secretary of the Asia-Pacific Plant Breeding Society. A PhD in plant breeding and genetics from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Paroda's contribution to agricultural research has been awesome. His inter-disciplinary approach to plant breeding research has led to the development of 14 improved varieties of seeds which for crops like sorghum, oats, cowpea, clusterbean, gram, pigeonpea and barley.
