Philips Takes Tough Stand On Strike Call

The company has made it clear that it will not yield to coercion tactics of the union and that all its action will be governed by the long term business realities.

In a press statement released here by the management, it has stated that the company had offered an average 20 per cent hike in salaries which is 25 per cent higher than those offered by comparable companies in Calcutta in the last one year.

As per the statement, the unions have rejected the offer and are demanding 25 per cent more than what has been offered.
