Pound, Zantac Hit Glaxo Profits

British drugs group Glaxo Wellcome Plc announced a sharper-than-expected fall in profits yesterday as the loss of patent on ulcer drug Zantac and the strong pound hit home.

Annual pre-tax profits dropped to
