St Kitts Trial Stayed Till Oct 27

The Delhi High Court yesterday stayed trial proceedings in the St Kitts forgery case and adjourned hearing on two revision petitions challenging the discharge of former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao and former Union minister K.K. Tiwari from the case till October 27.
Justice Anil Dev Singh, while allowing the plea of Raos counsel for some more time on the ground that he received the petitions very late, stayed the proceedings before the trial court.
The high court on August 26 had issued notices to Rao and Tiwari on the revision petition filed by the Peoples Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL) challenging their discharge from the forgery case.

CBI had also filed a similar petition on September 19.
Special judge Ajit Bharihoke had on June 4 discharged Rao and Tiwari from the forgery case while framing charges against self-styled godman Chandraswami and his aide Kailash Nath Aggarwal alias Mamaji, both of whom have since challenged the order in the high court.
The CBI had chargesheeted Rao and others alleging that they conspired to forge documents to show that former Prime Minister V.P. Singhs son, Ajey Singh, had opened a bank account in St Kitts islands First Trust Corporation Ltd and had deposited $ 21 million in 1987.
