Bringing inkjet right into the domain of laser technology in terms of superior print quality, Hewlett-Packard (HP) today launched its new multifunctional 'Officejet Pro' category printers in the Andhra market with a promise to offer more productivity and less running cost.
Ashwini K Aggarwal, country business manager - Business Imaging & Printing Group of HP India, said fitted with advanced inkjet printer heads, the new machines outperform the entry level laser desktop printers in print quality besides saving 50-60 per cent running costs as compared with laser printers.
"These products have been developed after evaluating what an Indian business consumer wants "" high quality delivery at lower running costs," he said after launching the products.
With colour coming within their expected range, offices and business in the country would now go for colour prints, which are likely to double in volume in the next few years, Aggarwal said citing the example of colour televisions, which are now seen even in smaller households in the country as prices dropped.
Of the five new models being launched across the country by HP, four are in the Officejet Pro category with prices ranging between Rs 6,500 and Rs 17,000.
Responding to a question on whether the company is considering to set up a manufacturing facility in India in place of importing these products in view of growing volumes, Aggarwal said HP had been evaluating various countries but infrastructure facilities play a key role in this respect.
HP claims to have an 84 per cent of the market share in India with regard to imaging and printing product sales.
