BJP repeating lies against Sisodia as CBI raids remained failure: AAP

The BJP is repeating its lies about Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia hoping people will eventually believe those as the outcome of the CBI's 15-hour raid at his residence and 30 locations across India was "zero", the AAP alleged Saturday. Hitting back at Union Minister Anurag Thakur for calling Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal "kingpin of irregularities" in the Delhi Excise Policy, the AAP said the country is watching how Prime Minister Narendra Modi is "misusing" the central probe agencies to "harass" the Delhi government. By targeting Kejriwal, the BJP is actually positioning the AAP national convenor as the principal challenger to Modi ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the party said. "The CBI raided 31 locations and carried out searches for several hours but the probe agency did not tell what their sleuths found at Sisodia's residence and how much gold they recovered," AAP chief spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj told a press conference. He termed the CBI raids a ...

Only 4 AAP leaders see Kejriwal as Modi's alternative: BJP's Parvesh Verma

As AAP leaders have begun projecting their party chief Arvind Kejriwal as an alternative to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, BJP MP Parvesh Verma on Saturday hit back saying claims made by "four people" should not be taken seriously. "Was there a survey by any news channel? Was any survey conducted among the people on whether Kejriwal can challenge Modi? This is being said by four AAP members -Saurabh Bhardwaj, Sanjay Singh, Atishi and Raghav Chadha. Who else is saying this?" Verma said in reply to a question at a press conference. "If there is some survey among the people of the country, if they say Kejriwal could be (an alternative), we will accept it. How can you accept anything said by just four people" he asked. Verma also alleged that some of the accused in the FIR registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with excise policy "scam" were close to AAP leaders. At a press conference earlier in the day, Delhi Deputy Chief Minis

PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday slammed the Congress, accusing it of failing to rally the opposition in support of the Aam Aadmi Party, whose leaders are being investigated by central agencies. Congress leader Manickam Tagore hit back, saying Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and his "gang" were caught in a "real corrupt act" and deserve to be brought to justice. Mufti took to Twitter also to remind the Congress that its leaders too were "victims" of the "Enforcement Directorate onslaught". Delhi Congress leaders and workers staged a protest on Saturday demanding the resignation of Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia a day after the CBI carried out raids at his residence in connection with the alleged irregularities in the rollout of Delhi's Excise Policy 2021-22. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday lauded Manish Sisodia as the "best education minister of Independent India" as he slammed the CBI raid at the Delhi deputy chief minister's residence over the Excise Policy 2021-22. On August 18, The New York Times published a story on the front page of its international edition titled, 'Our children are worth it', highlighting the "broader transformation of Delhi's education system" during the Aam Aadmi Party regime and noting that "the overhaul of the public schools in the capital of India has students clamouring to enrol". "Manish Sisodia is the best education minister of Independent India. Today the largest US newspaper NYT (The New York Times) printed his photo on the front page. CBI raids: Skeletons in AAP cupboard in Punjab as well, says SAD's Majithia

Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia on Friday said skeletons in AAP closets will tumble out, lashing out at the party as Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia faced a CBI raid. Majithia linked the Delhi government's now abandoned excise policy to the one being followed in Punjab, which too has an Aam Aadmi Party government. Skeletons are likely to tumble out of cupboards as the flawed monopolistic Delhi excise policy was implemented in Punjab also, he told reporters at Baba Bakala, without elaborating. Majithia also appealed to the Centre for the release of the Sikh prisoners who are lodged in jails even after the expiry of their term. He claimed the AAP government in Punjab had not fulfilled its election promises. Punjabis were first betrayed by the Congress. Now the AAP government is also following in their footsteps and is refusing to implement its promise to give Rs 1,000 per month to all women and regularize contractual employees, besides providing jobs to t

Misuse of probe agencies erodes their credibility, helps corrupt: Congress

After the CBI raided Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday, the Congress said the "relentless misuse" of investigation agencies against political rivals erodes their credibility and can help the corrupt to get away, even though its Delhi leaders claimed the raids exposed the AAP leader's "corrupt face". Delhi Congress leader Alka Lamba said Sisodia should face the action by the probe agency instead of "running away" to the cool climes of Himachal Pradesh. She also claimed the "corrupt face" of the self-acclaimed "truly honest" minister of the Aam Aadmi Party today stands exposed. She also accused Sisodia of ignoring norms in opening liquor vends in the national capital and thrusting the youth into liquor by reducing the legal age for drinking from 25 to 21 years. Another Delhi Congress leader, Abhishek Dutt, accused the AAP government of indulging in corruption in the liquor policy and granting licences to those who were close to them. He also shared pictures of Sisod
