Rahul Gandhi attacks AAP over 'sheesh mahal' politics, Kejriwal hits back

Blowing the cracks within the INDIA bloc wide open, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal launched a sharp counterattack against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, targeting him over the National Herald case and land grab case involving Robert Vadra. Kejriwal was responding to comments made by Gandhi at a poll rally in Delhi on Tuesday. Gandhi claimed that Kejriwal was "afraid" of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, that the "liquor scam" took place under his watch while he was engrossed in "sheesh mahal politics". "Don't preach on fear and bravery. The country knows who is a coward and who is brave," Kejriwal said in a post on X. The AAP supremo lashed out at Gandhi, raising questions about his family's alleged immunity from investigations under the BJP regime. "Modi puts people in jail even by making fake cases like the liquor scam. Why haven't you and your family been arrested in open-and-shut cases like National Herald? How did Robert Vadra get a clean chit from BJP? It is better if you don't preach

CM Saini trashes AAP's 'Haryana poisoning Yamuna' claim, demands apology

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday rubbished Delhi AAP's claim that the ruling BJP in the state is "intentionally" draining industrial waste into the Yamuna that supplies water to the national capital. Saini also hit out at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, saying it has become his habit to level baseless allegations and blame others. Saini's remarks came after the AAP on Monday accused the BJP in Haryana of "intentionally" draining industrial waste into the Yamuna, with Kejriwal alleging that it is trying to kill people by mixing "poison" in the river. Kejriwal should immediately apologise to the people of Haryana and Delhi, "otherwise we will file a defamation suit against him", Saini said. "Kejriwal has a habit of levelling baseless allegations and then run away. 'Ek kahawat hai -- thukoo aur bagho (There is a saying, first spit and then run away)," Saini told reporters here. 'I am Baniya, will arrange money for all schemes': Arvind Kejriwal

With less than 10 days to go for the Delhi polls, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal underlined his caste during public rallies on Monday, telling voters he is a "Baniya" and knows how to arrange money for welfare scheme he has promised. The former chief minister addressed public meetings at Palam, Matiala and Bijwasan. During his meetings, he talked about his party's governance model, and responded to questions and criticism about the welfare schemes including free electricity, water, education and healthcare. "They ask where the money will come from. I am a Baniya. I know how to manage resources. You do not need to worry. I know the maths and I will arrange it (the money)," he told the 'Jan Sabha' in the Palam constituency. He contrasted his party's approach with that of the BJP. "The AAP is the party for common people, whereas the BJP is a party for rich people," he claimed. BJP using unfair tactics to avoid historic defeat in Delhi, says CM Atishi

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Monday accused the BJP of resorting to unfair tactics out of desperation, as she claimed that a "historic loss" awaits the saffron party in the upcoming Assembly polls in the capital. At a press conference here, Atishi alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is deliberately disrupting Delhi's water supply in a bid to sway the public opinion in its favour. "The BJP is heading towards a historic loss in the national capital. In its bewilderment, it is resorting to tactics, such as stopping the water supply. Haryana is intentionally draining industrial waste into the Yamuna to harm the people of Delhi and influence the election outcome unfairly," she said. The chief minister highlighted that the presence of ammonia in the Yamuna water has skyrocketed to 7.2 ppm, an unprecedented level. She claimed that this contamination has caused disruptions in the operation of water treatment plants across Delhi, further exacerbating the crisis. Echoing similar

BJP made living hell of constituencies it won in 2020: Arvind Kejriwal

Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on sunday accused the BJP of obstructing development work in the city during his over 10-year tenure in Delhi, turning a "living hell" of the constituencies it won. He made the remark at a janasabha in Jangpura constituency while canvassing for party candidate Manish Sisodia for the Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for February 5. "Last time, BJP won eight assembly constituencies. They did not let any work happen in their areas. All eight of them made their assembly a living hell. You people should not make such a mistake even by mistake," Kejriwal said. He appealed to voters to send Sisodia to the assembly, saying he and his former deputy together made government schools excellent for the better future of their children. "Now BJP people are saying that if their government is formed, they will close all the government schools here too. It is up to you to choose AAP, which builds government schools, or BJP, which closes them," the

Kejriwal questions deployment of Gujarat SRPF companies for Delhi polls

Aam Aadmi Party's national convener Arvind Kejriwal has questioned the deployment of eight companies of the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) from Gujarat for the upcoming Delhi assembly elections. The SRPF companies reached Delhi on January 13 as per the order of the Election Commission (EC), Commandant SRPF, Bhachau, Tejas Patel said on Saturday. Kejriwal in a post on X on Saturday shared a circular issued by the office of the Additional Director General of Police (DGP), Armed Unit, regarding deployment of SRPF for Delhi election. "Read this order of Gujarat Police. Election Commission has removed Punjab Police from Delhi and deployed Gujarat Police. What is going on?" the former Delhi chief minister asked. Kejriwal's post came a day after the Punjab Police personnel deployed for his personal security were withdrawn, which he claimed was "pure politics". There should not be any politics at least over personal safety and security, he added. Punjab's Director General of Police Ga
