PM Modi visits Dongargarh in Chhattisgarh, meets Acharya Vidyasagar Maharaj

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday visited Dongargarh, a popular pilgrimage spot, in Chhattisgarh's Rajnandagon district and met Jain seer Acharya Vidyasagar Maharaj. The PM also offered prayers at Maa Bamleshwari Temple, located on the foot of a hill in Dongargarh in the poll-bound state. In the morning, Modi arrived at Gondia airport in Maharashtra and travelled from there by a helicopter. Feeling blessed to receive the blessings of Acharya Shri 108 Vidhyasagar Ji Maharaj at Chandragiri Jain Mandir in Dongargarh, Chhattisgarh, Modi said in a post on X. The state BJP unit in a post on X said, "PM Narendra Modi offered prayers at Maa Bamleshwari temple and wished for the prosperity and happiness of the country. Modi was accompanied by former state chief minister Raman Singh Polling to the 90-member state assembly will be held in two phases on November 7 and 17. Dongargarh assembly constituency is among the 20 seats which will go to polls in the first phase on November 7.

Rajasthan polls: 544 candidates, including former CM Raje, file nomination

A total of 544 candidates, including Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Dr CP Joshi and former chief minister Vasundhara Raje, on Saturday filed nomination papers for the Assembly elections. According to the election commission, on Saturday, the fifth day of filing nomination papers for the Assembly elections, 544 candidates filed nomination papers for 191 constituencies. So far, 1079 candidates have filed 1462 nomination forms in the state. Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta said that nomination papers would not be filed on Sunday, thus Monday will be the last day for filing nominations. Raje filed nomination from Jhalrapatan seat. After the nomination, she wrote on 'X', "Three and a half decades of togetherness and nomination for the 10th time!... Whatever I am today is because of my Jhalawar family. Assembly Speaker Dr Joshi filed his nomination for the Nathdwara seat. Voting for 200 seats in the state is to be held on November 25.

As the Telugu Desam Party decided not to contest the upcoming assembly polls in Telangana, political parties in the state are trying to woo the party's sympathisers by showering praise on TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu who was released from a prison recently. Naidu walked out of the Rajamahendravaram central prison on October 31 after spending 53 days in connection with a case of alleged misappropriation of funds from the Skill Development Corporation, which resulted in a purported loss of over Rs 300 crore to the state exchequer.
