Pamela Chopra, playback singer, writer and late filmmaker Yash Chopra's wife, died on Thursday at a Mumbai hospital. She was 74. Pamela Chopra breathed her last at Lilavati hospital where she was admitted after being diagnosed with pneumonia. She is survived by her sons, filmmaker Aditya Chopra and actor Uday Chopra. Delhi Police has arrested Devender Singh alias Bunty, a notorious thief who was involved in around 500 cases of theft across the country and inspired a Bollywood flick, officials said on Friday. Nicknamed "super thief", 53-year-old Singh was nabbed from Uttar Pradesh in connection with two recently executed thefts in the national capital, they said. Leading multiplex operator PVR INOX Ltd on Saturday announced the launch of a campaign to spread awareness about climate change and has joined hands with Bollywood actor Bhumi Pednekar. PVR, which after its merger with INOX Leisure operates over 1,600 screens pan India, is taking steps to reduce the carbon footprint by pursuing sustainable activities in its operations. "We have started many initiatives such as replacing all plastic usage inside the cinema halls with biodegradable materials such as paper cups, cutlery plates etc. We have water and electricity conservation plans where we would replace LED light, sensors in common areas etc," PVR INOX Executive Director Sanjeev Kumar Bijli told PTI. With this, PVR INOX would save 2,000 tonnes of carbon footprints in a year by taking these sustainable steps, he added. Actor Sameer Khakhar, best known for playing the lovable drunk Khopdi in the classic 1980s TV serial "Nukkad", died at a hospital here in the early hours of Wednesday due to multiple organ failure. The actor, who was most recently seen in the Prime Video series "Farzi" and moved to the US in the 1990s for a few years to become a software developer, was 71. Sameer Khakhar was admitted to MM Hospital in Borivali in suburban Mumbai on Tuesday morning following respiratory issues, his younger brother Ganesh Khakhar told PTI.
