At least six people were killed and 10 others injured on Sunday when a three-storey building collapsed due to a gas cylinder explosion in Pakistan's Punjab province, officials said. The three-storey hotel building located on the Grand Trunk Road in Punjab's Jhelum collapsed after the cylinder exploded in the kitchen, they said. Six people were confirmed dead while 10 injured were recovered so far and admitted to hospitals for treatment, Geo News reported, citing Jhelum Deputy Commissioner Samiullah Farooq. "(Rescue) efforts are underway and our teams are present here. There are reports that four to five people could be underneath the rubble, he said. He added that the rescue operation would continue till the whole site was cleared. At least three people are feared trapped after two floors of an under-construction building collapsed in south Delhi's Ambedkar Nagar area on Thursday, police said. Rescue operations are underway. Police and Delhi Fire Services officials are at the spot. About 4.25 pm, the police received information about two floors of a building collapsing at J-Block, DDA Market, Dakshinpuri. At least three people are trapped in the debris, a senior police officer said. Fire services and police personnel are present and a rescue operation is underway, the officer said. Delhi Fire Services Director Atul Garg said five water tenders are at the spot. According to information from fire services personnel, the lintel of the fourth floor of the under-construction building gave way, resulting in a portion of the building collapsing, he said. Four to five people were trapped in the debris. However, one person has been rescued and a search operation is underway, Garg added.
Six people were injured when the roof of an under-construction building collapsed in northwest Delhi's Kirari Suleman Nagar on Friday, fire officials said. Information regarding the incident was received at 12:25 pm, following which three fire tenders were rushed to the spot, they said. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital. Two of them were discharged after being administered first aid, the officials said. A senior police officer said preliminary inquiry revealed that the roof of the building in Inder Enclave, Phase II, Kirari Suleman Nagar collapsed due to the use of poor quality construction material. Legal action has been initiated in the matter, the officer said. Four of the injured were identified as Akhilesh Shah (35), a resident of Prem Nagar, Asar Modh (36), Riyazuddin (42) and Aman (44), all residents of Inder Enclave, according to the police.
The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has declared 524 buildings under its jurisdiction as dangerous after a detailed survey in the city limits, the civic body said on Thursday. Out of these buildings, 61 fall in C-1 category (most dangerous, unfit for occupation and require immediate demolition), 114 are in C-2A category (need to be vacated and structural repairs required), 300 in C-2B (need repairs without vacating) and 49 in C-3 (need minor repairs), Navi Mumbai Municipal Commissioner Rajesh Narvekar said in a release. The power and water supply to buildings classified as C-1 will be immediately disconnected. These buildings need to be razed immediately, the civic body said. The owners and occupants of the dangerous buildings have been asked to vacate the premises to avert any accident and loss of life, the release said. The occupants of buildings in categories other than C-1 need to carry out the repairs and reoccupy after the civic body certifies them as fit for occupation,

Five persons including four minors were injured after a portion of the parapet collapsed at a residential building in suburban Versova on Friday afternoon, a civic official said. Four of them were in the 16-17 age group while another was 23 years old, he said. Three of them were admitted to a private hospital and two to a civic hospital and the condition of all of them was stable, he added. A portion of the parapet on the second floor of Silver Streak apartment on Yari Road collapsed around 4.30 pm. Fire brigade and police personnel rushed to the spot, the official said. The precariously hanging portion of the parapet was later removed and the area near the road was cordoned off as a precautionary measure, he added.
A massive search and rescue operation to look for survivors and retrieve bodies following the collapse of a two-storey building in Bhiwandi in Maharashtra's Thane district was called after more than 45 hours just before Monday noon, officials at the site said. Eight people died, 10 were injured after a building in Wardhaman Compound in Valpada in Mankoli, which housed godowns on the ground and first floors and four families in tenements on the top floor, collapsed into a pile of concrete at 1:45pm on Saturday.
