Covid-19 pandemic: 547 new cases, seven more deaths in Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday recorded 547 fresh Covid cases that took the infection tally to 4,49,333, while seven more fatalities pushed the death toll to 4,739, officials said. Of the fresh cases, 307 were from the Jammu division and 240 from the Kashmir division, they said. Jammu district recorded the highest 176 cases followed by 103 cases in Srinagar district, officials said. There are 8,512 active cases in the Union Territory, while the overall recoveries have reached 4,36,082, they said. The death toll has reached 4,739 after seven new fatalities were reported in the past 24 hours, officials said. There were 51 confirmed cases of Mucormycosis (black fungus) in the Union Territory. No fresh case was reported since last evening, they added.

Covid-19 pandemic: 24 fresh cases in Tripura push tally to 1,00,739

Tripura's COVID-19 tally rose to 1,00,739 on Thursday as 24 more people tested positive for the infection, six more than the previous day, officials said. The coronavirus death toll remained unchanged at 916 as no fresh fatality was recorded. The state now has 375 active cases, while 99,380 people have recovered from the disease so far, and 68 patients have migrated to other states to date. The positivity rate was at 0.67 per cent. Meanwhile, with the COVID-19 graph showing a declining trend, the state government has relaxed night curfew hours from 10 pm to 5 am to 11 pm to 5 am from February 11 to 20. Gathering in any closed location is allowed with 50 per cent attendance amid strict adherence to COVID-19 norms, a notification issued on Wednesday night said. All standalone shops and commercial establishments, including shopping malls, will be allowed to remain open till 10 pm, it said. Covid-19 pandemic: West Bengal logs 884 new cases, 28 fresh fatalities

West Bengal's Covid-19 tally rose to 20,08,133 on Wednesday after 884 new infections, 148 more than the previous day's count, were registered, the health department said in its bulletin. It said that 28 new fatalities were reported in the last 24 hours, pushing the death toll to 20,912. On Tuesday, the state had recorded 736 new cases and 32 more deaths. The positivity rate, which was 1.87 per cent on Tuesday, increased slightly to 1.89 per cent. Since Tuesday, 46,836 samples were tested in West Bengal taking the total number of such clinical examinations to 2,35,97,058. The bulletin said 1,470 patients recovered from the disease taking the discharge rate to 98.19 per cent. So far, 19,71,826 people have been cured of coronavirus in the state. The number of active cases now is 15,395. Of the new positive cases, North 24 Parganas district reported the highest at 132, followed by 102 in Kolkata and 79 in Nadia. Coronavirus pandemic: Rajasthan reports 3,728 new cases, 17 deaths

Rajasthan on Wednesday recorded 3,728 fresh COVID-19 cases and 17 more deaths due to the disease, according to health department data. Jaipur reported 860 fresh cases, followed by 351 in Jodhpur, 204 in Udaipur, 188 each in Alwar and Ganganagar, 187 in Kota and 118 in Rajsamand, the data showed. Of the latest deaths, four were reported from Jodhpur, three from Jaipur, two each from Ajmer and Bundi, and one each from Bhilwara, Dausa, Nagaur, Sikar, Sirohi and Tonk, it said. So far, 9,424 people have died due to COVID-19 in the state. As many as 7,177 more people recovered from COVID-19. Currently, 33,812 patients are undergoing treatment in the state, the data showed.
