Foxconn invests fresh capital of around Rs 461 crore in Bengaluru unit

Taiwanese electronics manufacturing services major Foxconn has infused USD 55.29 million (about Rs 461 crore) in Bengaluru-based Foxconn Precision Engineering Private Limited, according to a regulatory filing. The company has made the investment through its Singapore-based subsidiary Foxconn Singapore Pte Limited. Foxconn Singapore has acquired about 46,08,76,736 shares at Rs 10 each, amounting to around USD 55.29 million (Rs 460.87 crore), according to the filing. Foxconn Precision Engineering was incorporated around six months ago. In July, Foxconn proposed to set up a Rs 8,800-crore supplementary plant to that of its unit at the Devanahalli Information Technology Investment Region in Karnataka. It has also bought 300 acres at Devanahalli. According to the announcement made earlier by the Karnataka government, Foxconn is expected to create employment for about 50,000 people in the first phase at Devanahalli.

Apple supplier Foxconn officials call on CM Revanth Reddy in Hyderabad

A delegation of Taiwan-based contract manufacturer Foxconn on Tuesday met Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy who assured them the required support for the operations of its manufacturing centre at Kongara Kalan near here. A press release from the CMO said the state government will also extend all necessary support to upcoming projects which are being undertaken by Foxconn. Foxconn Group, which will be investing USD 550 million in Telangana, entered into an agreement with the state government in March this year assuring them to create one lakh jobs by setting up an electronics manufacturing unit. In the first phase, the company will provide 25,000 jobs in the next two years. The firm held a groundbreaking ceremony in May for the facility to make Apple AirPods. The proposed electronics manufacturing facility at Kongara Kalan near here is a milestone for the Taiwanese firm's global expansion strategy diversifying its global manufacturing base, a press release had earlier said. Foxconn submits application for setting up semiconductor unit: MoS IT

Taiwanese electronics manufacturing services company Foxconn has submitted an application for setting up a semiconductor fab in the country, Parliament was informed on Wednesday. Minister of state for electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar said in a written reply to Lok Sabha that the government has taken several measures to boost electronics manufacturing, including semiconductors, incentivising large investments in electronic goods and appliances, and promote exports. "Foxconn has submitted its application under the "modified scheme for setting up of semiconductor fabs in India" for the establishment of semiconductor fab in the country," Chandrasekhar said. The development comes after Foxconn exited a joint venture (JV) with Vedanta Group to set up a chip plant in India. The JV had plans to set up its chip plant in Gujarat with an investment of around Rs 1.5 lakh crore. Chandrasekhar said the first semiconductor unit by Micron was approved in June 2023 under the Semicon India .
