Fast-food chain KFC is memorializing a popular Chinese Communist hero with restaurant decor extolling his deeds, in a rare matching of an iconic American brand with Communist propaganda. The official Xinhua News Agency said the company launched its first "Lei Feng Spirit" restaurant in Lei's home province of Hunan on Tuesday, the official remembrance day for the soldier who died in 1962 at the age of 21. Including your partner in social posts healthy for relationship: study

If you often share details of your personal life on social media, include your better half in the post to counter its negative effects on your romantic relationship, a study suggests. "Prior research has shown that self-disclosure positively affects offline relationships," said Juwon Lee, a post-doctoral researcher at Carnegie Mellon University. "We wanted to explore whether that would remain the case in an online context, where users can share detailed information with large audiences -- a phenomenon that typically would not be possible in person," Lee said in a statement. The ...

'Momo challenge' image creator says has destroyed doll

The Japanese artist behind the images that sparked the recent viral "momo challenge" hoax told AFP Monday he destroyed the creepy doll long ago and never meant to harm anyone. The scary image with goggly eyes and a pained expression was based on a Japanese ghost called "ubume" -- of a woman who dies during childbirth, explained Keisuke Aiso, head of Tokyo-based firm LINK FACTORY, which makes props for TV dramas. The silicon-based sculpture, which stands about one metre high, was first shown at a ghost-themed exhibition in Tokyo's swanky Ginza district in 2016 but attracted little attention at the time. It was one of many ghost-themed sculptures in Aiso's repertoire and the artist said: "It was meant to scare people, yes, but it wasn't meant to harm anyone." Aiso, 43, destroyed the sculpture last year because it began to deteriorate. "That was nothing to do with the recent case," he stressed. The terrifying image has been at the centre of a viral hoax, as reports surfaced that children
