Cognizant names Sailaja Josyula as Global Head of GCC Service Line

IT major Cognizant on Tuesday said it has appointment Sailaja Josyula as Global Head of its Global Capability Center (GCC) Service Line. Based in Hyderabad, she will oversee "the definition and execution" of Cognizant's global GCC strategy, establishing and leading a cross-functional team, a company statement said. "With her extensive experience and proven track record, Sailaja's leadership will boost our ability to build and scale GCCs, delivering great value for our clients," said Surya Gummadi, President, Americas, Cognizant. Josyula has rejoined Cognizant after a brief stint at EY. Between 2018 and 2024, she held several leadership roles at Cognizant, including serving as the Hyderabad Center Head and Global Head of BFSI Operations Delivery. With nearly 30 years of experience, she has also held leadership positions at Thomson Reuters and HSBC.

CorporatEdge raises Rs 100 cr equity fund from Carpedium Capital for growth

CorporatEdge, which provides flexible workspaces to companies, has raised Rs 100 crore from private equity firm Carpediem Capital for expansion of its business. In a statement on Thursday, CorporatEdge said the company plans to deploy Rs 350 crore, which includes Rs 100 crore equity infusion. The company will use the funds along with internal accruals to drive expansion across the key markets in India and the Middle East. In India, the company plans to strengthen its presence in Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru while strategically expanding into new markets such as Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Ahmedabad. During the second phase of growth, CorporatEdge will extend its presence into tier 2 cities such as Lucknow, Chandigarh, and Kolkata. Telangana CM urges global-standard development for Hyderabad's core area

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed officials to draw up plans to develop the 'core urban area' inside Hyderabad's Outer Ring Road (ORR) on par with international standards. He also instructed them to provide improved civic amenities to citizens. Reddy who held a meeting with officials suggested that a drone survey already initiated as a pilot project be conducted across the 'core urban area', an official release said Thursday night. He instructed officials to collect complete details regarding houses in the city, the supply of drinking water and electricity, drainage systems and other infrastructure. This, he said will help ensure the provision of basic amenities and facilities without disruption. He also suggested seeking assistance from Google if necessary to manage traffic in the city. Microsoft opens campus in Hyderabad, partners with state govt for AI growth

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Thursday inaugurated a new campus of Microsoft as the company celebrates its journey of 25 years in Hyderabad. The state-of-the-art 1.1 million sq ft LEED-certified building at Gachibowli, the city's IT hub would house 2,500 additional employees. Microsoft employs over 20,000 professionals in India over half of which work in Hyderabad. With the launch of the new building, Microsoft plans to hire another 4,800 employees, an official release said. On the occasion, Microsoft also announced another landmark initiativepartnering with the Government of Telanganato impart AI training to over 1.2 lakh people in the state. GHMC council meeting approves annual budget of Rs 8,440 crore for FY26

Amid protests by BRS corporators, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Thursday approved an annual budget of Rs 8,440 crore for 2025-26. The budget was approved during the GHMC council meeting, presided over by Mayor Vijaya Lakshmi R Gadwal. The BRS corporators, who held placards, sought debate on issues raised by them, also alleging negligence of city's development by the ruling government, which was countered by the Congress members. As attempts to make the BRS corporators resume their seats failed, the Mayor directed marshals to escort the former out. The BRS members, who were raising slogans, were taken to different police stations. In a post on social media platform 'X', BRS Working President K T Rama Rao condemned the party corporators being taken away by police "for questioning the Congress government's negligence of Hyderabad".
