A war of words has erupted in Madhya Pradesh over Rahul Gandhi's 'PM means Panauti Modi' remark with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) hitting back at the Congress leader, calling him "slow-witted". Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, however, defended Gandhi over the use of the word. Madhya Pradesh Congress has written a letter to all its 230 candidates who contested the just held state assembly polls, seeking details of officials who allegedly worked against rules to benefit the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party. The BJP, however, said the Congress, with such a move, was trying to find a new excuse for its imminent defeat in the elections. According to the latest provisional poll data for Madhya Pradesh released by the ECI on Saturday night, the state recorded a voter turnout of 77.15 per cent. Out of the total male voters in MP, 78.21 per cent exercised their franchise, while out of the total eligible females, 76.03 per cent turned up to vote.
