PM Modi to lay foundation stone of projects worth over Rs 50,700 cr in MP

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Madhya Pradesh on Thursday and lay the foundation stone of projects worth more than Rs 50,700 crore during an event in Bina in the state, an official said. The projects include a petrochemical complex at Bina refinery and 10 new industrial projects across the state. Assembly polls are due in MP this year-end. The official said the new projects in Madhya Pradesh will provide a major stimulus to industrial development in the state. The state-of-the-art Bina refinery of the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, which will be developed at a cost of about Rs 49,000 crore, will produce about 1,200 KTPA (Kilo-Tonnes Per Annum) of ethylene and propylene, vital components for various sectors like textiles, packaging and pharma among others. This will reduce the country's import dependence and be a step towards fulfilling the prime minister's vision of 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat', the official said. PM Modi to visit MP, Chhattisgarh tomorrow to launch development projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh on Thursday to launch a slew of projects in the two states. His office said in a statement that he will lay the foundation stone of projects worth over Rs 50,700 crore in Madhya Pradesh from an event in Bina in the state. The projects include a petrochemical complex at Bina refinery and 10 new industrial projects across the state. Later, he will travel to neighbouring Chhattisgarh to dedicate important rail sector projects worth around Rs 6,350 cr. Assembly polls are due in both states in November-December. During the programme, it said, he will lay the foundation stone of critical care blocks in nine districts of Chhattisgarh and also distribute one lakh sickle cell counselling cards. Union Minister Prahlad Patel on Friday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the initiative to ensure every rural household in the country gets 55 litres of drinking water per person per day. Speaking at a gathering in Sihora here as part of the Bharatiya Janata Party's 'Jan Ashirwad Yatra', he said the PM also took the initiative to link Ken and Betwa rivers to ensure water supply to people in rural areas. "A survey report of 1950 said 18 per cent of the world's population resides in India, while only 4 per cent of drinking water was available. Against this backdrop, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took this initiative to ensure every household in rural areas gets potable water," he said. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday announced the first list of 10 candidates, including nominees for two seats in Bhopal district currently held by the ruling BJP, for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh assembly polls. With this, the AAP has become the third political party, after the BJP and the Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), to release its first list of candidates for the year-end polls whose schedule is yet to be announced. Union minister Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday termed hydrogen as "futuristic" fuel and said Madhya Pradesh will become the top state in green hydrogen production like it is in the field of agriculture under the BJP rule. Addressing a public meeting while flagging off Jan Ashirward Yatra in Khandwa, Gadkari congratulated Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in view of the state holding the top position in the country in agriculture production for seven times on the trot. 7 booked for attack on BJP Yatra in MP; Minister claims Cong association

Police have booked seven persons in connection with an attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party's 'Jan Ashirwad Yatra' in Madhya Pradesh's Neemuch district, state Home Minister Narottam Mishra said on Wednesday. Mishra also claimed the attackers were associated with the Congress. Patel Engineering JV bags Rs 1,275 crore project in Madhya Pradesh

Patel Engineering Limited (PEL) on Tuesday said its joint venture has bagged a Rs 1,275.30 crore order in Madhya Pradesh. The contract was awarded by Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam, Patel Engineering said, adding its share in the JV project is Rs 446.36 crore. The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) project includes testing, commissioning, trial run and operations and maintenance. It is expected to be completed in 24 months, and its operations and maintenance will be carried out for 10 years. The Mumbai-based EPC firm has a strong presence in tunnels and underground works for hydroelectric and dam projects.
