Twelve cheetahs brought from South Africa to India in February this year have been released in the acclimatisation enclosure of the Kuno National Park (KNP) in Madhya Pradesh's Sheopur district, an official said on Thursday. The felines, comprising seven males and five females, were released in the quarantine bomas (enclosure) of the KNP on February 18 the day they were brought here from South Africa. The twelve cheetahs have been released in the acclimatisation enclosure, aka soft or pre-release enclosure, after a go-ahead from the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD), Principal Chief Conservator of Forests J S Chauhan told PTI over phone. Recently, ITC inked a deal to open 136-room Welcomhotel Gwalior, which is spread over 7 acres and slated to open by 2025, the hospitality company said in a statement. Ahead of the Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday said newly-appointed government teachers will get 100 per cent salary after completion of one year in service. Chouhan made this announcement at a programme held at his official residence for newly-inducted teachers, which was addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi via video message earlier in the day. "In the first year of service, teachers will get 70 per cent of the salary. From the second year, they will get a full 100 per cent salary. They will not have to wait for four years to get the full salary as per the provision made by the previous government in the state," Chouhan said in a veiled swipe at the erstwhile Congress government of Kamal Nath. The Assembly polls in MP are due later this year.
Software exports from four information technology (IT) Special Economic Zone (SEZs) in Madhya Pradesh's Indore jumped 66 per cent to Rs 2,925.60 crore during FY23, a commerce and industry ministry official said on Wednesday. The largest share in the overall shipments from the SEZs has been of IT giant TCS with 51.6 per cent. The official said in the FY22, software worth Rs 1,761.19 crore was exported from these four IT SEZs. During the financial year ended March 2023, software exports worth Rs 1,509.80 crore were made from TCS SEZ, registering a growth of about 74 per cent. Exports from Infosys SEZ grew more than three times to Rs 444.80 crore during the period, while the outbound shipments from Impetus SEZ more than doubled to Rs 330.77 crore, the official said. According to the official, during FY23 software exports from Crystal IT Park SEZ reached Rs 640.23 crore, registering an increase of about seven per cent.
The Madhya Pradesh government on Tuesday decided that it will implement the state millet mission scheme in all districts for a period of two years, an official said. The decision was taken in a meeting of the state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, he said. The government has decided to implement the state's millet mission scheme through the farmers' welfare and agriculture department in all districts for a period of two years," the official said. A total of Rs 23.25 crore will be spent on the scheme during the two years (2023-24 and 2024-25), he said. Under the mission, quality-certified seeds of millets will be given to farmers through seed cooperatives and government institutions on 80 per cent subsidy. A committee under the state agriculture production commissioner will be constituted to monitor the implementation of the mission, the official said.
