The AAP on Saturday claimed that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) suffered a big "loss to its exchequer" due to irregularities in the collection of parking fees and alleged the involvement of senior BJP leaders. MCD allocates Rs 40,000 per ward to augment street lighting at Chhath ghats

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has allocated Rs 40,000 per ward to augment street lighting at Chhath ghats, it said in a statement on Friday. The funds will be allocated to two ghats per ward. "The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has allocated an amount of Rs 40,000 per ward for augmenting street lighting at Chhath Puja ghats. These funds will be provided to two ghats per ward. The amount will be utilised for strengthening street lighting in and around Chhath ghats," it said in the statement. The MCD's electrical department will deploy its employees to complete the work at the earliest. Chhath will be celebrated on October 30 and 31. It involves offering "arghya" to the Sun god by fasting women in knee-deep water. Names in voters list revised till Jan 1 can vote in MCD polls: Delhi SEC

Delhi State Election Commission (SEC) said that the people whose names are mentioned in the electoral rolls revised till January 1 this year will be treated as voters in the forthcoming municipal elections. G-20 summit 2023: Delhi civic body begins beautification of over 370 places

Over 370 public places in Delhi have been identified for beautification in view of the G-20 summit next year, civic officials said on Saturday. Dog-bite cases: About 1,100 pet dogs registered since April 2022, says MCD

MCD on Friday said it has registered about 1,100 pet dogs since April 1, an exercise that began to check rising incidents of dog-bite. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) had on September 11 asked residents to get their pets registered in view of "rising incidents of dog-bite" in the national capital region, and warned that action could be taken for non-compliance of the norm.
