Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has begun a journey to retrieve India's soul, claimed Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Wednesday and wished the 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' would succeed in its goal to reinvent our glorious republic. The Chief Minister, who received Rahul Gandhi at the Land's End, presented him with a pink shawl and joined him in a prayer meeting at the Gandhi Memorial ahead of the launch of the nation-wide padayatra. Posting a video of the meeting in Gandhi Memorial on his twitter site and also photographs of their meeting, he said "Today, my brother @RahulGandhi has begun a journey to retrieve India's soul, to uphold the lofty ideals of our republic and to unite our country's people with love." Arvind Kejriwal to inaugurate Delhi model schools scheme in Tamil Nadu

The Tamil Nadu government is all set to inaugurate on Monday the Schools of Excellence and Model Schools Scheme, which is broadly based on schools in Delhi with upgraded infrastructure. In an event to be held at the state-run Bharathi Women's College, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal would launch the scheme here in the presence of his Tamil Nadu counterpart M K Stalin. As many as 26 Schools of Excellence and 15 Model Schools are covered under the scheme, apparently in the initial phase. 'Thagaisal Palligal' and 'Mathiri Palligal' are the official Tamil names for the SoE and Model Schools. Stalin would launch the Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammayar memorial 'Puthumai Penn' (Modern Woman) Scheme, under which a monthly financial assistance of Rs 1,000 would be provided to girl students, who studied in government schools from classes 6-12, pursuing higher education. 70% election promises fulfilled, says TN CM; assures of fulfilling the rest

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Thursday joined issue with the Leader of Opposition in the state assembly, K Palaniswami over his criticism of 'non-implementation' of promises made by the DMK government during the 2021 assembly elections, saying 70 per cent of them have been fulfilled. Stalin also assured that the remaining promises will be implemented for the benefit of the people of the state. Speaking at the wedding ceremony of the grand daughter of former minister Pongalur N Palanisamy here, he said as promised, the government had reduced the prices of milk, petrol and issued orders for free travel for women in government buses. The government has recently received two reports - one on the circumstances leading to the death of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and another on Tuticorin firing incident, in which 13 people were killed, he said. India sends over 2 bn humanitarian aid consignment to Sri Lanka amid crisis

As Sri Lanka grapples with a massive economic crisis, India handed over a large amount of humanitarian assistance consignment worth over Rs 2 billion to the island country which reached Colombo on Sunday.The High Commissioner of India in Colombo, Gopal Baglay handed over the consignment to the senior leadership of the Government of Sri Lanka, reported Colombo Page.
