Mumbai real estate market continues to see strong demand, as registration of properties rose by 4 per cent to 88,639 units during the January-July period, according to Knight Frank. As many as 84,866 units were registered in Mumbai's municipal region during the first seven months of the last calendar year. The data relates to transactions in both primary and secondary property markets. The government's revenue from these registrations rose by 13 per cent year-on-year to Rs 7,854 crores, real estate consultant Knight Frank India said, citing data from the Maharashtra government. On both metrics, the consultant said that Mumbai recorded the strongest performance since 2013 for the January-July period. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will hold meetings with exporters from different sectors, including food processing, textiles, engineering, and chemicals, from August 2-4 in Mumbai to discuss the implications of 25 per cent tariff announced by the US, an industry official said on Friday. American electric car maker Tesla on Friday said it will launch its first charging station in Mumbai next week. The company, which had announced its much-awaited entry into the Indian market last month, said the first Tesla Charging Station in India will feature four V4 Supercharging Stalls (DC charging) and four Destination charging Stalls (AC charging). The Tesla Supercharging Stalls offer a peak charging speed of 250 kW starting at Rs 24/kW and destination chargers providing 11kW at Rs 14/kW, it said in a statement. "This will be the first of the eight Supercharging sites that were announced during the launch in Mumbai, with more planned across the country, to provide the optimal cross-country experience," the company added. Waaree Energies on Monday posted nearly 93 per cent rise in its net profit to Rs 773 crore in the June quarter compared to the year-ago period, mainly on the back of higher revenues. The company had reported a net profit of Rs 401.13 crore in the same quarter a year ago, a statement said. Total revenues rose to Rs 4,597.18 crore in the quarter from Rs 3,496.41 crore in the same period a year ago. The company said it achieved the highest quarterly module production of 2.3 GW in the first quarter of FY26, driven by strong operational focus, and cell production continues to ramp up. The Board of Directors also approved an additional capital expenditure (capex) of Rs 2,754 crore for the expansion of cell capacity by 4 GW in Gujarat and Ingot-wafer by 4 GW in Maharashtra. Sun Pharmaceutical Industries on Thursday said it has settled an antitrust litigation in the US entailing a payment of USD 200 million. The subsidiaries of the company, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Inc. (SPII) and Taro Pharmaceuticals USA, Inc. have signed a settlement agreement with the End Purchaser Plaintiffs in the In re Generic Pharmaceuticals Pricing Antitrust Litigation in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, US, the Mumbai-based drugmaker said in a regulatory filing. "Under the terms of the settlement agreement, the subsidiaries will make an aggregate payment of USD 200 million in exchange for a full release of all claims asserted against them in the End Purchaser Action by the settlement class members," it added. The settlement amounts may be reduced if more than a certain percentage of the total insured class members opt out of the putative class, the company stated. The settlement agreement is subject to court approval, it added.

Work in the Gujarat portion of the bullet train corridor between Vapi and Sabarmati is planned to be completed by December 2027 and the entire project from Maharashtra to the Sabarmati section is expected to be over by December 2029, Lok Sabha was informed on Wednesday. Providing an update on the country's most ambitious project after some members asked questions regarding the status of its construction, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) Project (508 km) is under execution with technical and financial assistance from Japan. It is passing through Gujarat, Maharashtra and Dadra & Nagar Haveli with 12 stations planned at Mumbai, Thane, Virar, Boisar, Vapi, Billimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad and Sabarmati, he added. Sales of ultra-luxury homes, each costing Rs 10 crore and above, in Mumbai rose 20 per cent in January-June this year to a record Rs 14,751 crore on strong demand, according to a report.
