Pahalgam all-party meet: Owaisi slams Centre for ignoring smaller parties

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to invite all political parties irrespective of the number of members in the Parliament for the Pahalgam all-party meeting. In a social media post, the Hyderabad Lok Sabha member said he spoke to Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday night and that he was informed that the NDA government was thinking of inviting only parties with "five or 10 MPs". Owaisi also said when he asked why not parties with fewer MPs, the Union Minister replied that the meeting would get "too long" and "joked" that the AIMIM leaders "voice is anyway, too loud". Pahalgam terror attack: Protest held near Pakistan High Commission in Delhi

More than 500 people staged a protest near the Pakistan High Commission here against the Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed. Holding placards and raising slogans against Pakistan, the protesters demanded decisive action against the neighbouring country, accusing it of supporting terror activities in India. The BJP, along with various social organisations like the Anti-Terror Action Forum, also participated in the protest. "Earlier, the government carried out a surgical strike. We demand similar action again to eradicate terrorism. This was a shameful attack on innocent tourists," a member of the Anti-Terror Action Forum told PTI Videos. Odisha CM announces ₹20 lakh, job for wife of tourist killed in J-K attack

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday announced Rs 20 lakh financial assistance for the family of Prashant Satpathy, who was killed in the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam. Majhi made the announcement after paying floral tributes to the mortal remains of Satpathy at his house in Ishani village in the Remuna block of Balasore district. He also announced that the state government would provide a job for Satpathy's wife Priya Darshani Achariya, and take care of the education of their nine-year-old son Tanuj. "I strongly condemn the incident, and the state government solidly stands with the family of Prashant Satpathy at this hour of crisis.
