GE T&D India on Monday posted a steep rise in net profit to Rs 49.4 crore in the December quarter mainly on the back of higher revenues. The company posted an 8 per cent rise in revenue to Rs 840 crore in the quarter, the company said in a release. Profit After Tax was at Rs 49.40 crore, against Rs 4.7 crore in the Quarter Ended (QE) December 2022, the company said. The order bookings were Rs 2,370 crore, up 204 per cent compared to Rs 780 crore in Quarter Ended (QE) December 2022. PTC India is planning to provide round-the-clock (RTC) power offerings by "blending" green energy with thermal, its CMD Rajib Kumar Mishra has said. The offerings will also include storage solutions, the official made the remarks at the company's 24th Annual Day in the national capital. "PTC India stands strong and focused on taking up market risks and positions. Focused on crafting innovative solutions and acting as virtual power plants, PTC India aims to provide round-the-clock power offerings by blending renewable energy with thermal generation and storage solutions," Mishra said on Friday. Kalpataru Power Transmission on Monday posted a nearly 22 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 140 crore for the March 2023 quarter, mainly on the back of higher revenues. It had reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 115 crore in the year-ago quarter, a BSE filing showed. The total income rose to Rs 4,896 crore in the quarter from Rs 4,169 crore a year ago. For the full 2022-23, its consolidated net profit dipped to Rs 435 crore from Rs 535 crore in the preceding fiscal. The total income in the fiscal under review also rose to Rs 16,401 crore against Rs 14,866 crore. Kalpataru Power Transmission on Monday said it has bagged orders worth Rs 3,185 crore across various business segments in the domestic as well as international market. Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (KPTL) and its international subsidiaries have secured new orders/notification of awards of Rs 3,185 crore, a company statement said. These include orders in the T&D (transmission distribution) business of Rs 1,481 crore and EPC (engineering procurement construction) projects in the water business of Rs 1,509 crore, a company statement said. Over 17,000 circuit kilometers of transmission lines were installed in India in the last nine years to strengthen the electricity distribution system, Union Power Minister R K Singh said on Tuesday. He made the remarks while addressing delegates from the West African region at an event organised by the International Solar Alliance (ISA) in collaboration with Grid Controller of India Ltd (Grid-India) and West African Power Pool (WAPP) in the national capital. The usage of renewable energy is cheaper compared to the conventional form of energy sources, Singh said, urging the participants to increase use of green energy in their countries.
