Puneri Paltan became the first finalist of Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 after an emphatic 37-21 victory over three-time winners Patna Pirates here on Wednesday. Paltan's heroics were led by their skipper Aslam Inamdar who secured seven raid points. They will now face the winner of semi-final 2 in the summit clash on Friday. It was a close start to semi-final 1 as both Puneri Paltan and Patna Pirates exchanged early blows to keep the fans on the edge of their seats. Sachin was the pick of the raiders for the Patna Pirates once again but on the other side of the mat, an all-round performance from the Puneri Paltan slightly kept them ahead of their opponents, as they eventually began to get a hold of the game. Mohit Goyat's successful DO-OR-DIE raid in the sixth minute started a flurry of points towards the end of the first half for the Paltan, inflicting an ALL OUT on the Patna Pirates. Puneri Paltan overturned a 13-point deficit to beat UP Yoddhas 40-38 and finish at the top of the points table in the Pro Kabaddi League on Wednesday. Yoddhas' raider Gagana Gowda turned out to be the star with 16 raid points, while Pankaj Mohite was Paltan's top-scorer, securing 12 raid points. The Yoddhas were the better team in the opening 20 minutes, as Gowda led the charge with an exquisite 'Super Raid', getting the better of Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh, Abinesh Nadarajan and Vahid Reza Eimehr. The raid gave the Yoddhas a 5-1 lead in the third minute, growing only further. Gulveer Singh then came up with a two-point raid, as the Yoddhas inflicted an 'All Out' in the eighth minute to lead 12-7. The Paltan struggled to get any momentum, with just two tackle points in 13 minutes, while the opposition was leading 18-10. Gowda proved his worth again in the 15th minute with a superb five-point 'Super Raid', wiping out the Paltan defence and steering the Yoddhas to a 24-13 lead.
U Mumba and Telugu Titans ended their campaign on a thrilling note as they shared points in a gripping 45-45 draw in a Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 match here on Tuesday. Telugu Titans skipper Pawan Sehrawat was the top performer of the game with 14 raid points, while U Mumba's Amirmohammad Zafardanesh finished with 11 points. Raiders Narender and Vishal Chahal were the star performers as Tamil Thalaivas thrashed Bengal Warriors 74-37 in their last match of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 here on Sunday. Narender earned 17 raid points and Vishal 18 as the team from the south also recorded seven 'all outs', the most in a PKL match. Narender picked up a few raid points as the Thalaivas took a 4-3 lead in the fourth minute. Vishal also joined the party as the team from Tamil Nadu continued to forge ahead. Riding on the momentum given by the duo, Thalaivas inflicted an 'all out' in the 13th minute to take a 17-12. Narender then pulled off a 'super raid' soon after as the Thalaivas continued to dominate the match at 22-15 in the 18th minute. The side from Tamil Nadu inflicted another 'all out' to hold a massive lead at 31-18 at the end of the first half.
Debutant Vishal Tate shone bright as Haryana Steelers clinched a fighting 46-40 win over U Mumba in their Pro-Kabaddi League match here on Saturday. Tate was the star of the game with 15 raid points while Naveen Kundu completed a High 5 for the Steelers. Haryana Steelers started well as Ghanshyam Magar put the home side 6-4 ahead.
