Shakib Al Hasan is a Bangladeshi cricket, a genuine all-rounder and regarded as a greatest cricketer to have played for Bangladesh. He bats left-handed and bowls left-arm orthodox spin. In 2015, Shakib became the first cricketer to be ranked the No.1 all-rounder by ICC in its Player Rankings in all three formats of the game. He is third all-rounder in the history of international cricket to reach 10,000 runs and take 500 wickets, fastest to do so. He is also, first Bangladeshi bowler to take 500 International wickets.
ODI career
Shakib made his One Day International debut against Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club on August 6, 2006. He took one wicket and scored 39 runs in his debut game. He became first Bangladeshi cricketer to score 4,000 ODI runs. He is fastest all-rounder to score 5000 ODI runs and take 200 wickets. In 195 matches, he has accumulated 5577 runs at an average of 35.08 with a strike rate of 81.26, including seven centuries and 40 fifties. In bowling department, he has taken 247 wickets at an average of 29.69, conceding over 4 runs per over.
IPL career
He made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut against Rajasthan Royals at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on April 15, 2011 while playing for Kolkata Knight Riders. He was released by KKR ahead of IPL 2018 players’ auction and subsequently picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 2 crore. He has accumulated 746 runs in 45 innings of 63 matches at an average of 21.31 with a strike rate of 126.65, including two fifties. In bowling department, he has 59 wickets by his name while conceding over 7 runs per over.
T20I career
He made T20 International debut against Zimbabwe at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium on November 28, 2006. In December 2018, he became 8th player to take one five wickets haul in all three formats. Shakib also holds the record of best bowling figure by a captain (5/20) in a T20I match and the only captain to pick a five-wicket haul in T20Is. Overall, in 72 matches, he has scored 1471 runs at an average of 23.35 with a strike rate of 123.1, including five fifties. In bowling department, he has taken 88 wickets at an average of 20.16, conceding over 6 runs per over.
Test career
He made Test debut against India at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on May 18, 2007. He is 4th bowler to take 5-wicket hauls against all Test playing nations. He became only 7th batsman in history of cricket to score a double century in first innings and out for a duck in 2nd. He is only the third after Sir Ian Botham and Imran Khan, to score a century and take 10-wicket haul in a Test match. He is also fastest all-rounder to score 3000 Test runs and take 200 Test wickets in 54 matches. Overall, he has accumulated 3807 runs in 55 matches at an average of 39.66, including a double hundred, five centuries and 24 fifties. In bowling department, he has taken 205 wickets at an average of 31.29, including 18 five-wickets haul.
