Maruti Suzuki to set up second JIM in Haryana, boosting skills training

Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Friday said it has inked a pact with the Haryana government to set up second Japan-India Institute for Manufacturing (JIM) in the state. The new institute would come up at Kansala in Rohtak, Haryana and will be operational next year. Spread over five acres, the existing ITI Kansala will be upgraded to a JIM with an investment of 5.8 crore, the auto major said in a statement. The Haryana government has provided the land and building for the JIM, Kansala, while the company will provide equipment, training modules, trained teachers, and will manage this institute for 15 years, it added. "The Indian passenger vehicle industry is now world's third largest and growing. TPDDL signs MoU with PSSC for developing skill training programmes

Delhi discom TPDDL has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Power Sector Skill Council to jointly undertake skill development training and capacity-building programmes for the power distribution sector in India and abroad, according to a company statement on Thursday. The MoU was signed by Praveen Agrawal, chief human resource, industrial relations, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd (TPDDL) and V K Singh, chief executive officer of Power Sector Skill Council (PSSC), it said. The objective of the MoU is to provide a framework for cooperation between TPDDL and PSSC, facilitating the co-creation, development and imparting of courses for training and skill development for personnel in the power industry, state utilities and other organisations, the statement added. ASAP Kerala partners with German firm dSPACE to provide skilled manpower

ASAP Kerala, the state-run skill development agency under the Higher Education Department, has forged astrategic partnership with dSPACE, a global leader in mechatronics system software technology based in Germany, to provide jobs for skilled youth in the state. The German firm inaugurated its India operations at Kinfra Park at nearby Kazhakoottam recently. The partnership aims to build careers across ServiceNow's fast-growing network with a global focus to skill one million people by the end of 2024, ServiceNow said in a statement. This initiative furthers the government's efforts to develop India as a global talent hub and will launch with two entry-level on-demand ServiceNow courses for all learners free of cost.
