Need for farmers to adopt best practices, technologies: UP Dy CM Pathak

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak on Sunday said that there was a need for the farmers to adopt best practices and technologies, and avail benefits of the government schemes. LS polls: BJP banks on sitting MPs as it targets to win all 80 seats in UP

After the declaration of candidates on 51 seats by the ruling BJP for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, the political picture of the contest in Uttar Pradesh is becoming clear. INDIA bloc partner Samajwadi Party (SP) has so far declared tickets on 31 seats, including Varanasi, which it later withdrew due to the seat-sharing arrangement with the Congress. Amidst party workers' demand of fielding Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra from Amethi and Raebareli seats, the Congress is yet to come up with its list. Lok Sabha polls: EC readies plan to increase voter turnout in 10 UP seats

The Election Commission has devised a plan to encourage voters in Uttar Pradesh, which recorded a tepid turnout of 59.11 per cent in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, to exercise their franchise in the upcoming general elections. As part of its 'Turnout Implementation Plan' (TIP), the poll body has shortlisted 10 of the state's 80 Lok Sabha constituencies where the voter turnout was lower than the state's polling percentage. These parliamentary constituencies are Phulpur (48.57 per cent), Kanpur (51.39 per cent), Allahabad (51.75 per cent), Shravasti (52.05 per cent), Gonda (52.11 per cent), Domariyaganj (52.26 per cent), Pratapgarh (53.36 per cent), Bhadohi (53.45 per cent), Amethi (54.05 per cent) and Sant Kabir Nagar (54.15 per cent). Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday either inaugurated or laid the foundation of 48 development projects worth Rs 1,006 crore involving construction of highways and houses. Uttar Pradesh is set to witness a boom in the real estate sector with the launch of projects worth over Rs 50,000 crore which will also see creation of a significant number of jobs for the youth in the state, the government said on Thursday. Car securing route for CM Yogi's cavalcade meets with accident, 15 injured

At least 13 people including police personnel were injured when a police jeep met with an accident here Saturday evening while securing the route for Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's cavalcade, officials said. It was not immediately clear whether the chief minister was in the convoy which met with the accident in Arjunganj while returning from the airport here. 24 die as tractor-trolley falls in UP's Kasganj, CM announces compensation

Twenty-four people, including eight children, died when their tractor-trolley overturned and fell into a pond in Uttar Pradesh's Kasganj district on Saturday morning, police said. They said 15 to 20 people were injured in the accident that occurred on the Patiyali-Dariyavganj road under the Patiyali police station area when the occupants of the tractor-trolley were going to take a bath in the Ganga river.
