85% of corona cases are inside 'ring fence' in the state: UP Add Chief Secy

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 13 (ANI): During a press conference held in Lucknow on April 13, Uttar Pradesh's Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Avinash Awasthi informed that 85% of the corona cases are inside the 'ring fence' in the state. He said, "Chief Minister has given strict instructions that action will be taken against those who will be found hiding the coronavirus. The orders were given on 29th, 30th and 31st March for checking in every village and house and even temple so now action will be taken against all people who will be found to be in hiding. Chief Minister has also ordered that action will be taken against the concerned dist administration and police." He further said, "District Magistrates themselves had identified hotspots in 15 districts, in the 1st phase and around 25 districts, in the 2nd phase. More than 480 corona cases have been found here. So, 85% of the corona cases are inside the 'ring fence'. Around 20 lakh population of Uttar Pradesh is under hotspots."

COVID-19: Traders follow odd-even rule at Delhi's Azadpur Mandi

New Delhi, Apr 13 (ANI): Odd-Even rule was followed by vegetable traders at Delhi's Azadpur Mandi amid coronavirus lockdown. They will follow the rule from 06:00 am-11:00 am and 02:00 pm-06:00 pm from April 13. Odd-even rule will be followed according to the shed numbers of traders to maintain social distancing. The sale of vegetables and fruits will be done following this rule. There are total 1154 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Delhi. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 7987 in India and 308 deaths.

Have stock to conduct tests for next 6 weeks: ICMR

New Delhi, Apr 13 (ANI): While addressing a press conference amid coronavirus pandemic in the national capital on April 13, the scientist of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Dr Raman R Gangakhedkar said, "Till yesterday, we conducted 2,06,212 COVID-19 tests. Also, there is no need to worry, the pace at which we are conducting tests today, we have a stock with which we can conduct tests for next six weeks easily."

COVID-19 adversely hits mango business in Maharashtra

Pune (Maharashtra), Apr 13 (ANI): Mango business is severely affected in Maharashtra's Pune due to coronavirus lockdown. The stock has been lying in the godowns due to less demand in the market. While speaking to ANI, a mango trader in Pune, Balraj Bhosle said, "Half of the stock that we have is not being sold as there are no customers in the market." "Also, we are facing problems in transporting it to other cities," he added. There are total 1985 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Maharashtra. Construction work on govt projects in UP to resume from Apr 15: KP Maurya

Lucknow (UP), Apr 13 (ANI): While speaking to ANI amid coronavirus pandemic on April 13, the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Keshav Prasad Maurya said, "Construction on government projects will resume from April 15 in Uttar Pradesh while maintaining norms of social distancing by workers." There are total 483 confirmed cases of coronavirus in UP. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 7987 in India and 308 deaths.

'It was challenging': Chandigarh hospital chief on Punjab ASI's hand surgery

Chandigarh, Apr 13 (ANI): PGI Chandigarh Director Jagat Ram informed that the surgery of Punjab ASI, whose hand was chopped off by Nihangs, was very challenging and took more than seven hours to execute."The operation theatre was kept ready as soon as I received the call from DGP Punjab. It was a very challenging surgery and took about 7 1/2 hours. He (Punjab ASI whose hand was chopped off) is stable today but recovery will take time," said Ram.

Pilibhit district is corona-free now: UP's Principal Health Secy

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 13 (ANI): During a press conference held in Lucknow on April 13, Uttar Pradesh's Principal Health Secretary, Amit Mohan Prasad informed that Pilibhit district is corona-free now. He said, "47 people, out of the total 550 positive cases in the state, have been discharged from the hospitals after making a full recovery. Pilibhit district had 2 cases. One of them was discharged earlier and the second person too was discharged today. The district now doesn't have any active case. Pilibhit is corona-free as of now."

Dy CM Manish Sisodia visits sealed areas amid COVID-19 outbreak

New Delhi, Apr 13 (ANI): Union Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on April 13 urged the Muslim community to observe the month of Ramzan by offering prayers from their homes amid the nationwide lockdown in wake of coronavirus pandemic. COVID-19: Akal Takht instructed 'at home' celebration of Baisakhi, says Budgam gurudwara chief

Budgam (JandK), Apr 13 (ANI): The district gurudwara in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam remained closed for the general public on the occasion of 'Baisakhi' in wake of the coronavirus lockdown, as advised by the government and Akal Takht, said Satpal Singh, President of Budgam Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, Jammu and Kashmir. Even as a number of gurudwaras across the country allowed few devotees inside to offer prayers on the 'Baisakhi', the Budgam gurudwara didn't hold any programme inside their premises for the devotees on the the auspicious occasion.

COVID-19: 3 or more cases in an area will make it a hotspot, says Delhi Health Minister

New Delhi, Apr 13 (ANI): Informing about the current coronavirus situation in Delhi, the Health Minister said random testing has started and 180 samples were collected yesterday. "If there are 3 or more positive cases in an area then we are declaring it a hotspot. Random testing has also started from yesterday, 180 random samples were collected. COVID-19: Strict vigil on containment zones across country amid lockdown

New Delhi/ Bhopal (MP)/ Vijayawada (AP), Apr 13 (ANI): Chandni Mahal in the national capital has been declared a 'containment zone' by the government to prevent the spread of the disease. The movement of the people in the area is restricted to contain COVID-19 transmission. Sanitisation work was conducted in the red zone area in a bid to contain the spread of the virus. Harshwardhan Nagar in Bhopal was blocked after the area was declared a COVID-19 containment zone. At least 134 cases and 02 deaths due to COVID-19 reported in Bhopal capital. Rani Gari Thota in Andhra Pradesh's Vijayawada declared COVID-19 red zone. 401 confirmed cases including 07 deaths reported in the state.
