Castorseed prices slumped by Rs 94 to Rs 3,542 per quintal in futures trading today following heavy selling pressure at existing higher levels.
Marketmen said reports of strong sowing due to good rainfall along with increased arrivals and brisk selling in physical markets, mainly attributed the fall in prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, castorseed prices for November contract dropped by Rs 94, or 2.59% to Rs 3,542 per quintal, with an open interest of 67,210 lots.
Most active current October contracts slided by Rs 90, or 2.55% to Rs 3,442 per quintal, showing an open interest of 96,420 lots.
Second last January contract too slipped by Rs 88, or 2.26% at Rs 3,810 per quintal, in an open interest of 95,320 lots.
