Government has decided to establish permanent theatres for staging plays in all the 978 grama panchayats of the state, Minister for Culture, K C Joseph today said.

Inaugurating the Kerala Sangeetha Nadaka Academy's G Sankara Pillai Cultural Complex here, he said this proposal would go a long way in attracting more people towards the medium of drama and creating an awareness among the people.

He expressed the hope that it would help gain the lost glory of the theatricals.

Joseph said that he had held discussions with the Minister for Panchayats and Social Justice Dr M K Muneer in this regard.
