Abhishek group's exports touch Rs 1 cr

The Aurangabad-based Abhishek Group of Industries, an industrial packing materials company, has touched exports of Rs 1 crore. The majority of exports were to garment manufacturers in the US.

Anil Mirashi, one of company's promoters, said that the Abhishek group will be exporting still larger consignments in September, when the garment season in the US peaks. Each container includes 2.5 lakh pieces of high frequency PVC welding with screen printing, he said.

Abhishek is the only industry in the region which manufactures all the components of industrial packing - PVC welding, foam bags, bubble bags, blister forming and skin packaging under one roof. The company has been getting into the exports, while servicing the local needs.

Abhishek Group, in the last 10 years, has seen its turnover zoom to Rs 1 crore this fiscal from a modest Rs 45,000 in 1987.And is aiming for a Rs 10 crore turnover next fiscal.

It also provides packaging solutions for industrial customers which are designed in-house. Said Mirashi, "We have made an effort to change the mindset of industrialists here with respect to packaging. For instance, one TV manufacturer was using the packing material like cloth wrapping."
