| Adlabs net profit up 57 per cent |
| Adlabs Films, the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group's media and entertainment company, has recorded a net profit of Rs 12.61 crore, 57.42 per cent up for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2007, as against Rs 8.01 crore recorded during the corresponding 2005-06 quarter. The company's revenue stood at Rs 96.29 crore for the quarter, up 149 per cent compared to Rs 38.62 crore posted during the same quarter last year. |
| Tata Metaliks net drops 36% |
| Tata Metaliks has registered 35.72 per cent dip in net profit to Rs 29.51 crore for the year ended March 31, 2007, due to shutdown in one of the furnaces. The Kharagpur plant produced 260,435 tonnes of pig iron, falling short by 21 per cent. The company's profit before tax declined by 39 per cent to Rs 42 crore, while turnover for the year increased 55 per cent to Rs 781 crore. |
| Escorts posts net profit of Rs 6.71 crore |
| Tractor and agri equipment manufacturer Escorts posted a net profit of Rs 6.71 crore in its second quarter ended March 31. The company had posted a loss of Rs 16.18 crore for the same period last year. The total sales during this quarter increased by 32 per cent at Rs 574 crore, against Rs 435 crore for the corresponding period last fiscal. The company's tractor sales grew by 24 per cent to 14,795 units in the second quarter. |
