Ahlstrom signs MoU for apparel park

Ahlstrom, a global market leader in high performance fibre-based materials, has signed an MoU with Mundra Port & Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of the Ahmedabad-based Adani group for 50,500 Sq Mtrs area in the Textile and Apparel Park.

This is a step ahead in Ahlstrom's plan to start the production of fibre-based materials at Mundra SEZ to serve both export and domestic markets of the fibre composites segment. Parties have agreed not to disclose the commercial terms.

Ahlstrom has a liaison office in Delhi which markets a wide range of products like specialty papers, non-wovens (medical, food, wipes, technical), filtration and glass fibre tissue and specialty reinforcements.

Helsinki Stock Exchange-listed company Ahlstrom's net sales in 2006 amounted to ¤1.6 billion.

Ahlstorm's 5,700 employees serve customers through the liaison office and production facilities in over 20 countries on six continents.
