Alembic To Bag Yutopar Rights From Dutch Firm

The Vadodara-based pharmaceuticals firm Alembic Ltd is acquiring the brand and trademark rights of obstetrical care drug Yutopar from Solvay Pharmaceuticals BV of The Netherlands.
Yutopar is a utero relaxant with Ritodrine Hydrochloride USP as its main ingredient and had a turnover of Rs 1.44 crore in the domestic market in 2001-02.
It was introduced in the country in December 1995, and is available in tablet as well as injection forms.

The consideration for the buy-out is not known, but sources close to the deal said it is around Rs 1 crore, which is payable in equivalent euros.
