Alstom to expand Vadodara facility

Alstom has announced plans to expand power service capabilities at the company's Vadodara facility.
 
It will also be strengthening its power service business in India through investments in an expanded service workshop.
 
Walter Graenicher, president, Alstom (Power Service), said, "We have already built a strong base at our facility in Vadodara for the enhancement of our power service capabilities. We are introducing technologically-advanced equipment for our operations globally. In India, the addition of Alstom's 'High Speed Balancing Tunnel', suitable for all rotating equipment, will be offered to Indian customers," said Graenicher.
 
At present, power service sales constitute nearly 16 per cent of Alstom's total business in India, amounting to Rs 300 crore.
 
Focusing on plans to enhance the training and development of power service personnel, Frederic Lalanne, managing director & vice-chairman, Alstom Projects India Ltd, said, "India is an important market for Alstom's power service business and at the same time offers a vast talent pool. We will continue to expand our team of engineers who cater to Indian as well as global requirements."
