BPCL gas agents to sell BSNL products in Andhra

About 200 cooking gas distributors of Bharat Petrolium Corporation Limited (BPCL) will sell the products of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) at the doorstep of 21 lakh customers spread across 23 districts in Andhra Pradesh.

G Haribabu, proprietor of Bhavani Gas Company and all-India cooking gas distributor of BPCL, made the first purchase of BSNL's products worth Rs 50,000, marking the launch of BPCL-BSNL tie-up in the state.

P Ananda Sundaresan, regional LPG manager, South India, BPCL, and John Chrisostom, BSNL general manager, Krishna district, presided over the function here on Wednesday.

Ananda Sundaresan said BPCL entered the tie-up with BSNL as part of its 'Beyond LPG' mission. The two PSU giants entered AP after launching the initiative in Bangalore and Chennai recently.

The distributors supply about 25,000 LPG cylinders a day in the State.

Three modern bottling units of BPCL located in Vijayawada, Hyderabad and Kurnool meet the gas demand of its customers.

Chrisostom said BSNL's new products such as Excel Gold, Silver and rural schemes would also be supplied by BPCL door-delivery boys.
